Kids. Am I right? I used to love playing with them, then immediately handing them back to their parents. That was teenage me. Grown-ass adult me (four kids later) is constantly coming up with clever ways to manage what they watch, the games they play, who they talk to, and where they go. "Where they go in the house" was the hardest part to solve. Putting an expensive Schlage smart deadbolt on an interior room felt like total overkill, but then I stumbled across this gem. It was exactly what I needed: cheap, kid-proof, and completely effortless with keyless, password-free entry for my wife and me. Now I can lock my studio door to keep little hands off all my YouTube gear. It worked so well that I bought a few more for the garage, pantry, and laundry room. I've tried other interior smart locks, but I always end up back with this one. Sure, there's no native Home Assistant integration, but connecting via Bluetooth through the Tuya app gets the job done—even if I have to be nearby to grant guest access. My only real gripe is the lack of a passage/disable-lock mode. When we put our house on the market, I had to physically uninstall the lock and swap in a standard dumb knob so prospective buyers wouldn't get locked out during walk-throughs.
