In theory, the concept behind these motion lights makes total sense: add bright lighting to tight spots like a small closet without having to hire an electrician. And to be fair, it actually works. But you have to be REALLY committed to live with it. First of all, it’s way smaller in person than the product photos make it look, which means the rechargeable battery inside is microscopic—about two inches long by an inch wide. As a result, the battery barely survives a full week on a single charge. Why? Because the motion sensor keeps the light turned on way too long after you leave the area. To make matters worse, there's zero option to run it on hardwired power even if you have an outlet nearby. It MUST run on battery power, like it or not.
